Andy Peal, Recreation Director for Sienna Associations, and his team host more than 50 events every year.
“In 2023, more than 9,000 residents participated in Sienna’s recreational programs,” Andy says. “We’re on track to hit 11,000 this year!”
Someone has to feed all those people… Miki Stripling, owner of Richmond, Texas-based Bee A Little Cheesy, is perfect for the job.
“Miki is extraordinary, just phenomenal,” Andy says. “She’s taken our food presentations to the next level. Her attention to detail is impeccable. We’ve been working with her for several years, and she hasn’t done the same menu or presentation twice. She creates very personalized presentations. She’s an artist.”
With 17 years’ experience handling Sienna’s recreational events, Andy knows what his groups need.
“Our events further extend the lifestyle our residents have invested in. We have sports leagues, classes, seminars, and other events that allow our residents to participate in activities right in their own neighborhood,” he says.
Andy chose Bee A Little Cheesy to cater his wife Jill’s 40th birthday party.
“It was a fun event with 70 guests. Miki is so thoughtful about her presentations. She asked Jill about her favorite foods and assembled them beautifully,” Andy says. “I didn’t know mac and cheese could look so beautiful!”
Sienna residents for the last seven years, the Peal family enjoys the neighborhood activities themselves.
“When we started our family, we wanted our son, Brady, to grow up in the lifestyle the Sienna community provides,” Andy says. Jill is a fourth-grade teacher in Sienna, and Brady has followed in his dad’s footsteps of being a sports fanatic.
“At age 18, I was a basketball player with nowhere to play, so I started
my own league,” he says. “When I came to Sienna, there wasn’t a lot of programming, so I had to develop it. One of my team members grew up playing in the Sienna leagues and now manages them.”
Another team member found Miki and Bee A Little Cheesy, and the team has never looked back for its catering needs.
Andy says, “Miki has become an extension of our department. She has become part of our family.”
